Spouse : Sarabjeet Kaur.
Children: Yudhvir Manak, Shakti Manak.

Manak was born on 15th November 1949, in the village of jalal in Bathinda district of Punjab. He was born as Latiff Mohammed, to Nikka Khan (was a singer himself). Manak Had two Brothers:
Siddqui -A devotional Singer
Rafiq– a tantric also were musically inclined.

Manak’s ancestors were the “Hazoori Raagis” of Kirtan for Maharaja Hira Singh of Nabha.

Kuldeep Manak got married to Sarabjeet Kaur. kuldeep Manak was blessed with two children, Yudhvir Manak- a boy and Shakti Manak- a girl. His son Yudhvir manak followed his father’s footstep and become a renowned singer.

Kuldeep manak completed his education at village Government High school, Jalal.He was very keen of playing hockey in his school days and had great inclination towards singing. Once at School Prizing event Sardar Partap Singh Kehron gave him name kuldeep Manak after being amazed by the quality of his voice.

Some student use to comment on kuldeep Manak build by calling him manka, which eventually got translated to Manak.

In 1968 when manak was in 9th standard at school recorded his first song with seema as in those days duet songs were very popular among people. The song under the lable of HMV recorded was called “jija Akhian Na Maar Ve Main Kal di Kuri” was written by very famous lyricist, Babu Singh Maan.

Once interviewed by desiblitz kuldeep manak revelead that he didn’ fully understand the meaning of lyrics of his first song as he was young and was in his 9th grade. Manak was known as folk singer. The first folk song sung by manak was “Maa Mirze di boldi”, followed by another folk song “ohne maut nu waajan maarian”.Once while performing live Kuldeep manak was spotted by then, very famous and renowned lyricist and writer Hardev Dilgir popularly known as Dev Threekewaala. later On they became very close to each other and Dev penned many “Lok Gathavan” for Manak.

Kuldeep manak had also been the part of many punjabi films. He sung ‘sathon ni majhaa chaar hundiya’ in movie ‘saidon jogan (1979)’, ‘Yaaran da truck balliye’ in movie ‘Lambardarni’. He had also acted in movie ‘balbiro bhaabi (1981)’ and had been the singer composer of the movie. He also sang a song “ajj dhee ik raje di” for movie “sassi Punnu (1983)”.

Singer Jazzy B is a great fan of Kuldeep Manak and seen talking about kuldeep Manak many times on TV, media and he has dedicated one lyrical tribute to kuldeep Manak “Manke to Manak”.

Legendary Singer Gurdas Maan is very big fan of manak saab and he wrote some lines about manak in his song “Pind Diyan Galiyan“, “Manak Hadd Muka Gaya navian kaliyan Di”.
